Jimmy was a fraud, he could play the guitar rather well but he stole almost everything he claimed to have written. Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, former Yardbirds bandmates... People would show him a tune and he'd go and record and publish it and slap his name all over it. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should try and defend him either, if you don't like hearing the truth then that's a you problem.
